What the petition asks
Make the Green New Deal the model to rebuild the UK economy after this crisis.
Lead the world, ahead of COP26, & use this time to create a low-carbon economy that protects against future & larger crises caused by climate breakdown.
Create millions of jobs in green sectors that lead to a 2°C world.

COVID19 demonstrates the fragility of society in times of crisis. Climate change, through food insecurity, water scarcity, climate refugees etc., will create similar but larger crises in the near future.
The previous economic system guaranteed an increase in global temperatures to well above 2°C. Scientists show +2°C is the last point of safety.
COVID-19 shows we can make huge economic & social changes in times of crisis, but the bigger, climate crisis is still ahead. We must change path now.

Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action. We understand that you want the Government to use the Green New Deal as the model to rebuild the UK economy after the current crisis, but you haven't stated what the Government would need to do to achieve this.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do, in order to implement the Green New Deal.
You will need to include your full name if you would like to start a new petition.
Alternatively, you may wish to sign one of these petitions calling for similar actions:
