Independent school fees to be reduced by at lest 50% whilst they are shut.

What the petition asks
Virtual lessons aren’t a direct replacement for a school environment education. No lunch, break/lunchtimes, PE lessons, games, IT, food tech, environmental studies etc. Parents need to ‘fill in’ as a teacher. Independent schools shouldn't be able to charge more than 50% of their fees whilst shut.
Support this crisis by giving independent schools a maximum amount they can charge whilst they are shut! (suggestion is 50% of their fees) And no increase in fees for the next academic year.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Independent schools are not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament, and so decisions to reduce or refund fees would be a matter for individual schools.
