Extend the '3-month mortgage payment holiday' to tenants.

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Landlords have been offered a '3-month mortgage payment holiday'. We are asking the government to ask mortgage providers to send a letter to THE OCCUPIER of all the properties that have been granted this mortgage-holiday, so tenants can force their landlords to extend this courtesy to them.
Tenants are struggling to pay rent. Landlords are not offering a rent-holiday, even when they have been granted a mortgage-holiday.
We are asking the government to force mortgage providers to inform tenants about holiday granted to landlords. If the tenants are informed they can negotiate with their landlords a rent-holiday equivalent to the mortgage-holiday granted to them.
Banks to send a letter to the property simply saying: this property has been granted a 3-month mortgage payment holiday.
