Ban the sale and distribution of books and publications that promote terrorism
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
There are books and publications openly available online, in bookshops etc. which openly promote terrorism. These should be banned. Where ever possible they should be confiscated. Uploading such publications online should also be a criminal offence.
Why it was rejected
It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.
The Terrorism Act 2006 made the dissemination of terrorist publications an offence, and the Government recently introduced additional laws to create new offences regarding obtaining or viewing terrorist material.
If you want the Government to change the criteria for these offences, or fund increased enforcement of these laws, you could start a new petition requesting this.
