NHS staff who die of Covid-19 in service should receive a posthumous honour
Rejected

What the petition asks
Doctors & nurses treating members of the public with Covid-19 have themselves contracted the disease & sadly, died.
This number is unfortunately likely to grow over the coming days as it has in other countries.
I believe their ultimate sacrifice should be recognised with a posthumous honour.

The staff of the NHS are dedicated professionals. No one can be in any doubt of their huge bravery. Some have already died & it is highly likely that more will die during the course of this pandemic.
To serve in the NHS is a calling, a vocation & no one should be surprised that as well as the huge additional effort with overtime & extra shifts that all are giving, some will give their lives.
This sacrifice should be recognised with a national posthumous award for their sacrifice.
