Set up a national memorial to all NHS staff and carers who died tackling Covid19

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To set up a national memorial to all those NHS staff and carers who paid the ultimate sacrifice in tackling the corona virus. Their selfless and brave efforts helped to keep the public safe. Tragically many of them paid with their lives. We should publicly acknowledge the huge debt we owe them.
These people put their own safety aside to help care for and save others lives, tragically paying the ultimate sacrifice in some cases. They should be remembered in the same way that we remember the armed services who fought for our freedom. They are our true heroes. A national memorial would be a fitting tribute to them. In addition the best way to honour their memory would be for the government to enshrine in law that the NHS will remain publicly funded and not sold off in a trade deal.
