Force easyJet to obey the law regarding refunds for cancelled flights

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Compel easyJet to adhere to the relevant legislation by (a) informing customers of their right to a refund for cancelled flights, and (b) allowing them to do so online.
The CAA says "if your flight has been cancelled, your airline must offer you the choice of a refund or alternative flight". easyJet is failing to do this, sending emails to customers offering a choice of changing their booking or receiving a voucher, without mentioning the option of a monetary refund. easyJet has also made it difficult for customers to claim a refund by deactivating the option to do so online, and telling them to phone a call centre which is almost impossible to get through to.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Arrangements for refunding, changing or rebooking travel are a civil matter between individual travellers and airlines or travel agents, not the Government or Parliament.
