Fund national and local memorials to those who sacrificed their lives for us.

What the petition asks
Daily we hear of doctors, nurses, NHS support workers, carers, emergency workers and public transport staff who are losing their lives because they have to chosen stand between us and this deadly threat. Government, both national and local, should mark their sacrifice with a permanent memorial.
COVID-19 is the most lethal international pandemic since the Spanish Flu and the greatest national challenge since the Second World War. Our nation should remember those who have given their lives, not just in a national memorial but also at local level, just as we did following the first and second World Wars. Government should also organise a national service of remembrance and thanksgiving to dedicate these memorials.
