Pay a bonus for NHS staff during Covid-19 and commit to reviewing pay afterwards

What the petition asks
We ask the government to pay an additional sum of at least £1,000 p.a. per person supporting the NHS, backdated to 1/4/20, until the end of this crisis, at which point the government will commit to positively reviewing NHS staff pay to reflect the importance of their role and the risks they take.
The health secretary recently stated that this was not the time to review the pay of nurses. We agree with this. At the present time, however, when millions are being paid to work at home or to not work and stay at home, nurses and other NHS staff are asked to continue working while placing their health and that of their families at risk. Some have additional costs in childcare, travel (avoiding public transport), caring for relatives or other areas.

Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
The Government is not responsible for setting the salary of most key workers, or setting minimum wages for particular sectors, but you may wish to sign petitions calling for the following actions:
