Petition · past parliament
The Government needs to keep the Nightingale Field hospitals open permanently.

What the petition asks
Keep the Nightingale Field hospitals open for at least 2yrs to allow the NHS time to catch up with waiting lists for operations. They could also be used as temporary beds for those awaiting social care placement.
This would allow the NHS to catch up from years of austerity which has meant longer and longer waiting lists and waits for emergency care due to lack of beds.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. Decisions on hospital capacity is a matter for the NHS and indiviudal trusts.
You could start a petition calling for the Government to fund extra NHS beds if that's something you'd like to see happen.
