What the petition asks

The Cabinet Office to agree together with the HD Committee to introduce a new medal to be awarded to all NHS staff and volunteers to demonstrate the Nation's gratitude for their selfless self-sacrifice over an extended period.

The Govt rushed through the introduction of a completely new medal to those who deployed to assist during the Ebola outbreak. It was universally supported. The Cabinet Office should do the same now as the most visible way of showing the Nation's gratitude to our NHS Staff who will be working for months on end under such extra-ordinary pressure since the outbreak of COVID-19 putting their own lives at risk as well as the lives of their family.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
