What the petition asks
Parliament to pass a bill that awards a pay rise to all NHS and private Social Care employees. Start at 20% Bands 1-4, 15% Bands 5-6, 12% Band 7, 10% Band 8a, 7.5% Bands 8b-8c, 5% Band 8d and 2.5% Band 9. Full time contracts for all Social Care staff at min working wage, underwritten by Government.
After seeing millions of people Clap for Carers on Thursday evenings, it struck me that there is a powerful movement in the country to do more for our NHS and Social Care workers. Also, at a recent press conference, Foreign Secretary Dominic Raab was asked what the level of "recognition" would be for all carers, after the Pandemic crisis is over. Rather than an public gesture of appreciation, let's award decent levels of pay for the people that care for us most and enshrine this sentiment in law
