Make Captain Tom Moore A Knight of the British Empire.

Rejected 15 signatures

What the petition asks

I want the government to recommend that Captain Tom Moore is made a knight for his marvellous attempt at fund raising for the NHS by walking 100 laps of his garden which has raised over a million pound so far. At 99 years old and with a walking aid.

No one deserves this recognition more.
Captain Tom Moore served his country in the 2nd world war then went onto live a long life once back home. Now at the age of 99 and with a walking frame he decided to do something in the covid-19 pandemic to show his appreciation for the NHS and with his walking frame walked 100 laps of his garden, so far he has raised over £1.3 million pounds and this is an an honour he fully deserves.

Why it was rejected

It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.

We know lots of people want to petition for Colonel Moore to receive an honour, but the Government will only accept individual nominations, not petitions, so we can’t publish your petition.
