Open golf courses during lockdown

Rejected 10 signatures

What the petition asks

I would like the government to allow golf courses to open. The majority of them have online booking systems which would mean the club houses could stay closed. It would still be possible to maintain safe distance from each other and make no contact. Each party of 4 would be 8 minutes apart.
A lot of workers are staying at home, furloughed and this would allow everyone who plays to have safe excercise outside without mass gathering. It would be simple for the Courses to set up distancing measures in areas where the 2m rule could not be followed.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since you started your petition the Government has announced that golf courses in England can re-open.
