Government support for self-employed dentists during COVID-19

Rejected 12 signatures

What the petition asks

Think again about the impact of leaving over 75% of self-employed dentists out in the cold, as they are deemed ineligible for Government support.

Dentists which are an essential core working group in our healthcare system are forgotten and need help right now too during this difficult time!
Self-employed dentists, deserve to be treated in a comparable way to those who work PAYE. Regardless of how people choose to work and earn a living, we all deserve support in these unprecedented times.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.

Dentists are not excluded from accessing the Self-Employment Support Scheme, although the scheme is only accessible to workers whose trading profits are less than £50,000.

We have published a petition calling for the Government to remove the £50k earnings limit for self-employed to access government funding, which you might like to sign: Remove the £50k earnings limit for self-employed to access government funding

If you want the Governemnt to make a different change to this scheme, you could start a new petition stating exactly what change you want the Government to make.
