What the petition asks

The Government to recommend to UK The Queen a Knighthood for this old soldier for the incredible contribution in his fundraising for the NHS. At the date of writing he has raised over £3 million pounds for the NHS.
Captain Tom Moore, to walk a 100 lengths of the back garden which is 25m in length, before he is 100 at the end of April.

Tom, born & raised in Keighley, went to Grammar School, completed apprenticeship as Civil Engineer, enlisted in 8DWR in the beginning of WW2 1940 selected for Officer training, posted to 9DWR, India, served, fought on Arakan, went Regiment to Sumatra post Japanese surrender, returned as Instructor at AFVS Bovington

Why it was rejected
