Make Travel companies issue cash refunds quickly for COVID19 cancellations
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Force Travel companies and airlines like TUI, Virgin Holidays, Virgin Atlantic and British Airways to offer the ability online to request a refund and pay this in a timely manner where a holiday or flight has been cancelled due to COVID-19.
Hard working people have booked holidays/flights in good faith and now find themselves out of pocket. Some Travel companies/airlines are making it extremely difficult to request a refund. Some have been promised refunds and these have still not materialised over 5 weeks later which is unacceptable. Some are being fobbed off with the option to rebook but can’t take this option due to reasons like now finding themselves in a difficult financial position or simply not being able to move holidays
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Arrangements for refunding, changing or rebooking travel are a civil matter between individual travellers and airlines or travel agents, not the Government or Parliament.
