Ban use of Sky Lanterns in the UK
Rejected
21 signatures
What the petition asks
Please debate a UK wide ban of the use of Sky Lanterns ( also known as Chinese Lanterns). They pose a fire hazard to livestock, buildings and crops, and can cause catastrophic damage on dry land. They travel for miles, entangle livestock and wildlife and can kill if the debris is mistaken for food.
Please consider a ban of the use of Sky Lanterns for the whole of the UK.
Why it was rejected
There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
You may wish to sign this petition calling for the same action: For the sake of wildlife & forests ban the release of balloons and sky lanterns.
