A Knighthood for Captain Tom Moore

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

At 99 years of age and seeing the strain on our NHS staff this amazing man took it upon himself to 'do his bit' to help them fight the Coronavirus. He set out to raise £500,000 by walking 100 laps of his back garden before his 100th birthday. To date he has raised a staggering £8 million, & counting
Considering mega rich film stars and sports personalities are knighted for just being good at their job, Tom Moore, a WW2 veteran and former Captain should absolutely be recognised for his incredible community spirit and fortitude in Britain's fight against Covid-19.

He is an inspiration to us all, a national hero and a fine upstanding example of what makes Britain and it's people great!

Why it was rejected

It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.

We know lots of people want to petition for Colonel Moore to receive an honour, but the Government will only accept individual nominations, not petitions, so we can’t publish your petition.
