What the petition asks
During the COVID-19 pandemic Captain Tom Moore, aged 99, has completed a sponsored walk to raise much needed funds for our heroes on the frontline in the NHS. At this present time he has raised over £12 million. We believe that this man deserves a knighthood for his actions.
Not only has Captain Tom Moore generated a huge amount of much needed funding in to our healthcare system at this critical time in our country’s history, but he also served heroically on the frontline during our last great struggle as a nation. His war service in the Far East alone deserves tremendous recognition, but his recent charitable actions for the NHS cement this petition as a much needed honour for this man in our current crisis.
Why it was rejected
It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.
We know lots of people want to petition for Colonel Moore to receive an honour, but the Government will only accept individual nominations, not petitions, so we can’t publish your petition.
