What the petition asks
Honorary promotion to Major and a knighthood
Tom Moore has raised over £12 million to support the NHS during the COVID19 pandemic. Despite being 99 years old, Tom has physically challenged himself to raise money for others by walking 100 laps of his garden, despite suffering with hip problems and requiring a frame to walk. In this dark time, Tom has shown himself to be a true hero by raising funds to support those frontline staff who themselves are true heroes, in the proud tradition of HM Forces.
Why it was rejected
It was about honours or appointments, which petitions cannot cover.
We know lots of people want to petition for Colonel Moore to receive an honour, but the Government will only accept individual nominations, not petitions, so we can’t publish your petition.
