Petition · past parliament

I think a Hospital or Department should be re-named after Captain Tom Moore.

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To name a department in a large UK hospital after Captain Tom Moore or even better incorporate a hospital with his name.

I think his positivity i.e. "the sun will shine again" is hope for us all in these uncertain times.
Tom was only after £1000 for the national health service but his actions at his age has brought the country together to generate a fund of nearly 19 million (17/04/2020) this was by showing hope/determination and positivity.

I hope this gets discussed and I honestly hope this happens.

This man not only deserves a knighthood but this country deserves a reminder of hope.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The naming of hospitals or individual wards is a matter for NHS England and individual NHS trusts, and not the Government or Parliament. You can read the NHS's identity guidelines here: https://www.england.nhs.uk/nhsidentity/identity-guidelines/naming-principles/
