Deny the Lords demand to their daily £323 allowance while they're not sitting.

What the petition asks
The Lords should be furloughed the same as the rest of the country and accept 80% or a maximum of £2500 per month the same as the general public. What right have they to demand £323 a day for working from home, when in the House they are seen sleeping, so would probably sleep more in their homes.
Everyone in the country should have the same terms applied, no matter what their job, whether a cleaner, celebrity or politician. If the Lords demand is met, it would be totally unfair to the people of the UK that have been furloughed or made to self isolate. Most if not all of the Lords are multi millionaires, they do not need £1600 a week to survive.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
The attendance allowance paid to members of the House of Lords is a matter for the House of Lords, and not the Government or House of Commons. You can find out more about allowances for Members of the House of Lords here: https://www.parliament.uk/about/mps-and-lords/about-lords/lords-allowances/
