Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

We want the government to force insurance companies to payout For COVID-19 on the disruption policy cover that many businesses have taken out thinking it would help protect them should anything like this happen
If the insurance companies payout to
Small businesses it well with job retention, stop businesses closing and going into liquidation, help with the current employment issues.

Insurances companies / brokers should be held accountable for the policies they have sold to many businesses thinking they would be covered for any disruption. Many small businesses are facing huge financial difficulties due to current pandemic with no help from the insurance industry.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

The decision to pay out under a policy is one for individual insurance companies, not the UK Government or Parliament.

If you are unhappy with the decision of your insurer you should complain directly to them.

If you are unsatisfied with how an insurer responds to your complaint you may wish to contact the financial ombudsman: https://www.financial-ombudsman.org.uk/businesses/complaints-deal/insurance
