Force Airlines & Tour operators to comply with Law regarding refunds.

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Airlines & Tour operators are illegally retaining £7 billion of customers money, according to Which?
Many of these customers are experiencing financial hardship due to the Covid 19 epidemic & need their money back to help them get through the financial effects of the pandemic.
Call Airlines & Tour operators to task regarding consumer law on refunds for cancelled flights & holidays, at risk of losing operating licences or company directorships.
Insist that said persons maintain inbound lines of communication from their customers & set up automatic cash refunds on their websites for customers who do not wish to rebook or accept vouchers.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Arrangements for refunding, changing or rebooking travel are a civil matter between individual travellers and airlines or travel agents, not the Government or Parliament.

The Civil Aviation Authority, which regulates the UK aviation industry, has provided guidance on passenger rights and how to make a claim: https://www.caa.co.uk/Passengers/Resolving-Travel-Problems/Delays-and-cancellations/
