Extend protections from unfair dismissal to employees when they pass probation
Closed

What the petition asks
At present employees can only claim unfair dismissal after they have been employed for two years. This means they can be fired or made redundant unfairly, with no recourse.
Employees that have passed probation should have the same protections employees that have worked for the company for over two years. The Government should allow employees to claim unfair dismissal as soon as they have passed any probation period, and have therefore been deemed right for the role, in order to protect them from being dismissed or made redundant unfairly.
