Furlough temporary workers at 80% of their salary rather than 80% of NMW

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Many temporary workers have recently found out that due to an obscure clause in their contracts they are paid at National Minimum Wage with a "discretionary bonus" making up the rest of their day rate. The Job Retention Scheme will not include this "bonus" so workers may only receive 80% of NMW.
Temporary workers must not be disadvantaged by the obscure contract terms employed by agencies and umbrella companies. The portion of their pay over NMW cannot be considered as "discretionary" or even as a bonus since it forms part of their agreed day rate. The government must issue clear guidance to remove this obstacle to temporary workers receiving fair and equal treatment to salaried employees.
