Review the current training and awareness of GORD in infants.

Closed 169 signatures

What the petition asks

To review the current training and awareness of Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GORD) for clinicians within primary and secondary care. Doctors to be able to recognise GORD and follow the NICE pathways effectively; to act with pace for patients presenting with GORD.
The review should look at whether the current level of awareness and knowledge inhibits effective treatment for infants suffering with GORD. Pathways for GORD should be implemented at a national standard to ensure consistent care across the U.K. Infants across the U.K. are suffering with GORD, living with severe pain, being uncomfortable and causing an increased number of post natal depression in care givers who are unable to comfort the child. Parents are having to fight for support from the NHS for effective treatment.
