What the petition asks
Due to prisoners being locked up for 23/23.5 hours a day, they should have some compensation of 2 days for 1 day.
Prisoners are locked up for 23/23.5 hours a day when before they were let out for 10 hours a day. More prisoners would be let out earlier which slows down coronavirus from spreading in prisons. Protecting both guards and prisoners. This would be some compensation for both prisoners and families that are unable to attend visits.
Why it was rejected
The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.
Since you started this peititon, the Government has announced plans to release some prisoners early where it is safe and appropriate to do so.
