Allow shops selling essential baby supplies to open on an appointment basis.

Closed 46 signatures

What the petition asks

Allow shops selling essential baby items (prams/cots/car seats) to open on an appointment basis during the lockdown imposed due to Covid-19. These are essential not optional items. Issues purchasing such items adds stress to expectant mothers, this is detrimental to the unborn child.
It is impossible to assess the safety and quality of essential baby items via online images. These items are large, thus delivery/returns can be very expensive making purchasing then returning items prohibitive, it is also time consuming. Essential safety demonstrations for use cannot be given effectively online. These shops could effectively work on an appointment only basis reducing social contact risks. These items can be considered more essential than alcohol, yet off licenses remain open.
