What the petition asks
The government to protect this service to the public and prevent mass unemployment. Postal workers have been providing an essential service, delivering vital NHS high risk letters and collected CV-19 tests. Now Royal Mail have stopped letter deliveries on Saturday. This risks 20,000 jobs!
20,000 jobs are at stake. These are people trying to buy a house, pay their mortgage, etc. This will further damage the economy and property market.
Postal workers with high risk medical conditions have had to continue to work. They do not need the stress of looming job losses.
Mondays will have double mail. This will be incredible stressful for employees. Indoor work on Mondays will take longer, increasing the risk of cv-19 infection. It is impossible to distance in offices.
