What the petition asks

Following recent high profile cases which the Electoral Commission has lost, it is clear that it is not fit for purpose.
We believe that the Electoral Commission is a partisan organisation which no longer has any credibility.

High profile cases brought against leading members of the Leave case for Brexit have been lost.
It is time to replace it with a truly independent body committed to impartially in all matters referred to it.

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

The Electoral Commission is already set up to be an independent body committed to impartiality. We're not sure what you'd like to change.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like to happen. For example you could start a new petition asking the Electoral Commission to be replaced with a new body headed up by people who have been appointed from each political party to ensure impartiality, if that's what you'd like to happen.
