Petition · past parliament

Why are we allowing illegal immigrants to enter Britain on boats from France?

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

I would like the government to set up a task force to stop illegal entry into British waters.
We have a British Passport to prove that we are British citizens. There are ways to apply legally for British citizenship. Illegal entry to the country makes a mockery of the laws under which we have to live

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Under international law, it is legal for a person to apply for asylum in any country that has signed the 1951 Geneva Convention and to remain there until the authorities have assessed their claim.

You could start a new petition asking the UK Government to withdraw from international treaties that give people the right to seek asylum in the UK, if that's what you'd like to happen.
