Print Vehicle Registrations on Takeaway Packaging & Increase Littering Penalty.

What the petition asks
UK takeaway food outlets to print the Vehicle Registration Number (VRN) of the vehicle it was served to on the packaging. Increase the minimum value for a Fixed Penalty Notice (FPN) to £250 if a person is caught throwing litter or if their litter is found anywhere but the correct refuse container.
This provides traceability of the litter and a strong deterrent to those who either don't understand or don't care about the damage they are doing.
Covid 19 has had a massive impact on us all. The substantial reduction in takeaway food has created a substantial reduction in the amount of litter blighting our countryside. Many of us have become blind to the fact our hedgerows are filled with brightly coloured plastic and card. Until it's gone, and is suddenly brought to our attention.
