What the petition asks
We seek assurance that it is the Government's intent, that in the case of conflict between the Commonwealth of Australia and the People's Republic of China, Her Majesty's Government will declare the United Kingdom an associate of Australia, and come to Australia's aid militarily if required.
As Britain recovers from the revelry of the Victory in Europe commemorations, we are mindful of the peoples that helped Britain defend herself, and allowed her to play her part in that historic blow for freedom over authoritarianism.
Today, at the start of a new chapter in our history, it is important that our old friendships are remembered. Australians stood with us in our darkest hour. We owe it to those Australians to commit to the defence of their descendants and their homeland.

Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Petitions need to be about something the UK Government and Parliament are responsible for. This would be a joint decision for the Australian and UK Governments, not the UK Government alone.
