What the petition asks
Lower grade requirements required to go to university and for different courses. To not hinder chances for students which could not get the right work experience requirements and other qualifications. Special consideration for university applications and exams due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Year 12 have had the largest uncertainty and lack of clarification regarding their future. They've had to teach themselves the majority of their A level courses which requires a deeper understanding and application of knowledge. Each Year 12 student has been faced with different circumstances due to this new format of learning at home which means we no longer have the equal chance at performing the best in which we would've, if the pandemic had not happened.
Why it was rejected
It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.
Decisions about exams are a matter for exam boards and individual schools, and are not a matter for the UK Government or Parliament.
