What the petition asks

Dear Prime-minister, as you yourself went through the impacts of COVID - 19 and can feel the pain many of our loved ones are going through right now. Urgent government intervention is needed to help households by exempting at least 3 months of Council Tax so many of us can take a sigh of relief.

From buying food items for families to paying utility bills, car insurances & road taxes, TV licence fees, water bills and many more is piling up on people’s minds. The fear is that this unprecedented pressure can cause a wide spread mental health crises, as people simply can not afford to meet their every day needs. Many households have requested ‘council tax holiday’ and worry that they will not be able to pay when its due, given the current situation. Most have no pay coming in at all.

Why it was rejected

There was already a petition about this issue. Duplicates are rejected so signatures collect in one place.
