Allow places of worship to open for private prayer and meditation
Rejected
16 signatures
What the petition asks
We would like the UK Government to amend its COVID-19 guidance to permit churches and other places of worship in England to open for private prayer and meditation; and to seek to persuade the devolved administrations in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland to adopt similar proposals.
Allowing churches and places of worship to open would provide comfort and consolation at a time of distress and would alleviate some of the collateral damage to the nation's mental health that the lockdown has caused.
