Do not open schools until September 2020

What the petition asks
Continue the closure of schools for all, except vulnerable children and the the children of key workers, until the next academic year in September.
There’s absolutely no need to open schools, for a fraction of children and limited facilities.
There are many ways and time to catch up in September. Excellent home-schooling resources and processes are already in place.
The risk to our amazing teachers’ lives is real. Children could also bring infection home to their families and grandparents.
Limited opening will do little to help parents return to work and economic arguments are weak.
Save lives, protect the NHS, keep children at home
