Allow cyclists to access to all public footpaths across the countryside.

Closed 4,438 signatures

What the petition asks

Give cyclists full access to the public footpath network across the countryside. Obviously there will need a requirement to give walkers plenty of warning, via bells, of proximity. Walkers will ultimately have right of priority, however, mutual respect will be required!
To assist in the promotion of cycling and general increase in fitness. Also to promote a friendly combined use of the countryside for the benefit if all. This could also increase the uptake of cycling, which can have influence on people using cycles to commute. If people can gain confidence in the countryside, they will have more skills on the road, potentially cutting down accidents.
