Move Parliament to Birmingham

What the petition asks
The debating chamber in the Palace of Westminster is no longer fit for purpose - the cost to modernise it should instead be used to build a 21st century home for Parliament. Our government should be in Birmingham, the centre of England.
Parliament is more and more perceived to be out of touch with much of the country and the elitism of London is a barrier for many people to engage with government. A brand new debating chamber with full digital capabilities and supporting infrastructure would put Britain once again at the pinnacle of democracy. The new complex could include accommodation to alleviate expense claims. Birmingham and the surrounding area would benefit from the opportunity.
