Include the Transatlantic Slave Trade in the National Curriculum

Rejected 13 signatures

What the petition asks

Educate students on Britain's involvement in the transatlantic slave trade, and how it impacts society today.
We live in a diverse society in which individuals should not be left with the burden of educating others on Britain's impact on their family history e.g. last names.

“general enlightenment that provides an intellectual, cultural, and social climate [ensures] recurrence would no longer be possible.” - Adorno

To know is to grow. Germany teaches about the Holocaust to ensure such a tragedy never occurs again, Britain has the same responsibility.
