Community cares to be paid per shift not per client!

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

Make it so Carers out in the community get paid per shift not per clients visit.
Community Carers do not get paid enough for the work they do they can be out in the community visiting vulnerable people who need assistance between the hours of 7am until 10pm and only be paid 5 hours because they only get paid per visit. They will receive 25p per mile during the travel between calls which does not cover the maintenance of there cars or fuels. This has been going on for years community Carers have been push aside unappreciated and underpaid things need to change. Thank you

Why it was rejected

It was not clear what the petition asked the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Workers are already entitled to be paid for all working time, which includes travelling in connection with work, including travelling from one work assignment to another.

If an employer fails to do this you can raise this with either Acas or HMRC: https://www.gov.uk/national-minimum-wage/worker-disputes-over-minimum-wage
