Give all IPP prisoners a release date

What the petition asks
Legislation is needed for the thousands of prisoners who are stuck in the system serving sentences on an abolished IPP indeterminate sentence with no idea of a release date. Hundreds of whom are 10+ years over a minimum tariff.
These sentences can be deeply harmful for families of IPP prisoners. This has not been addressed by the criminal justice agencies. The aim of this petition is to end the injustice, legislation is needed. IPP was abolished in 2012 therefore, all prisoners serving on this sentence should have their sentence reviewed with a clear release date. The punishment has not always reflected the crime. Prisoners need a release date, an end goal as it is impossible to work towards nothing.
