Bring school holidays forward, return children to school for autumn term in July

Rejected 16 signatures

What the petition asks

Do not make children return to school on the 1/6/20. Bring the school holidays forward to start from 1/6/20. Re start schools for the autumn term on the 13/7/20.
This will allow a further six weeks for the R number to reduce. Parents will not be responsible for teaching their children (so those children who aren’t being taught by parents will not loose out). It will also mean there will be less disruption caused by schools starting, stopping and then starting again.

Why it was rejected

It asked for something that is not the responsibility of the UK Government or Parliament.

Decisions about school term dates are a matter for the governing bodies of individual schools, not the Government or Parliament.
