MP's to not recieve pay rise until key worker jobs have caught up with inflation

What the petition asks
The MPs’ salaries have exceeded £80,000. In 2010, MPs’ annual salary was £65,738 – an increase of £16,194 in ten years. When you factor in inflation, it works out as roughly a 2% increase, compared to workers such as nurses, police and teaches who have seen up to 14% decrease with inflation.
Starting salary for teachers in 2010 was £21,600, now at £24,400.
Factor in inflation, this is a 6% drop in pay, according to fact checking charity Full Fact.
Starting salary for a nurse was £21,200. Now £24,200. A 5% decrease with inflation.
A constable’s starting salary was £23,000. Now £24,200, meaning a 14% fall in pay.
Plans to halt NHS pay rises need to stop.
Government bodies should not be allowed ANY pay rises until our services workers have the same matching increase they deserve.

The UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for setting MPs' pay. The Independent Parliamentary Standards Authority (IPSA) is responsible for deciding on MPs' expenses and pay. IPSA is independent of both Parliament and Government.
