To introduce "Hong Kong Bill 2019-2021" as a government bill

What the petition asks
The bill would allow UK to sanction HK officials for oppressing freedom; and offer residency to British Nationals (Overseas) of HK. Without government support, it will unlikely become law.
Being British is not a crime. We must stand with HK and live up to our promises made to them 36 years ago.

UK signed a treaty promised to safeguard HK's way of life. The new law proposed by China would allow secret police to be deployed in HK, which also unprecedentedly by-passes HK legislature.
Such action is a blatant breach of the treaty and an insult to the UK. The law would also harm our interest in HK and make HK British Nationals vulnerable as China targets their foreign nationality.
While we busy fighting COVID-19, we must not watch HK fall. Support HK Bill to show our promises weight.
