Allow metal detecting rallys to go ahead with the social distancing in place

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

As a club owner I would like you to allow organised digs to go ahead.
Many of our members are ex military and suffer from PTSD, metal detecting plays a huge part in maintaining their mental health.we also have alot of elderly members that have no family or that live alone, sometimes in flats.
As a dedicated club owner, I can absolutely say that metaldetecting is one of the safest sports/ hobbies out there.
Our fields are 50 acres plus, so social distancing is easy.
We can do all the admin, payments, sending of maps etc online.

Why it was rejected

The UK Government or Parliament was already taking the action it asked for.

Since you started your petition, groups of up to 30 people from different households, may now gather: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do/coronavirus-outbreak-faqs-what-you-can-and-cant-do

This includes groups organised by metal-detecting clubs. Further information is available from the website of the National Council for Metal Detecting: https://www.ncmd.co.uk/news/
