Please allow zoos, wildlife parks and wildlife rescue centres to re-open!

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

This petition is asking the government to reconsider urgently their decision to keep zoos closed as the impact is significant on the wildlife, the staff and suppliers in the zoo industry.

Please allow zoos, wildlife parks and wildlife rescue centres to open their doors again to the public!
This industry has high costs to look after the animals in their care. Although some of the zoos may have some reserves and may get some donations to look after the animals, these funds are not unlimited as even only the direct costs to care for animals will be thousands of pounds per day. Yet these organisations have invested to make their places safe for visitors in view of COVID-19.

Zoos, wildlife parks and wildlife rescue centres can offer a safer day out for people than going to beaches.
