Increase fines for littering and support a clean up campaign

Rejected 21 signatures

What the petition asks

To increase fines for littering in public spaces, spread awareness about how unacceptable littering is. To support a campaign that demands we need to do more and expresses the following; report those you see littering, organise safe litter picks in your local area, reduce, reuse, recycle.
As lockdown has been eased, littering in public spaces has been increasing. Bins are overflowing at beaches, parks, green spaces. People need to take their rubbish home. Its unhygenic and dangerous to people, wildlife, our fragile eco-systems, our oceans (where it eventually ends up) this absolute disregard for the health of our planet is selfish, dangerous and something that needs to stop now! The Government needs to take action now and educate on the dangers of littering. There is no planet B.
